Growing up Jewish in Northern Michigan

A respected Jewish educator and community organizer, Rebecca Starr was raised on a working sheep farm in Pickford, Michigan in the eastern Upper Peninsula after her parents moved there in 1973. She was raised in a small, rural community and learned to work the land while holding onto Jewish tradition and practice. Join us to hear the story of her childhood in the UP, connection to the Jewish community of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, and how her Yooper identity shaped her into the Jewish professional she is today.
