Publishes Michigan Jewish History, the annual journal of the Society. The editorial committee welcomes submissions and suggestions for articles which may include Jewish communities throughout the state. Conducts tours of historic Jewish Detroit, as well as special tours for young people, adults and families to the sites where Michigan Jews made so many contributions to their state and the nation. To volunteer or to book a tour, Contact Us for office e-mail, phone, or postal address information. Collects yearbooks of Michigan schools attended by Jewish students over the decades. Volunteers are needed to scan these books already a collection numbering 600 for potential future publication on the web. To donate a yearbook, to volunteer or to do research utilizing this collection, Contact Us or e-mail Marc Manson at mdmcousa@aol.com. Cooperates with the Leonard N. Simons Jewish Community Archives of the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit, which collects and preserves the historic papers and photos of the local Jewish community. The Irwin I. Cohn Michigan Jewish Cemetery Index of over 64,000 names from 36 cemeteries dating from the 1850s to 1999 can be seen at www.jfmd.org/cemetery.
