March 10, 2013 @ 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM

Streets-of-Old-Detroit-Sanders-storefront

This event is sold out!

The tour, created especially for the JHSM with an emphasis on Jewish history makers, will include a walk through the Leonard N. Simons Streets of Old Detroit (named for one of the founders of the JHSM) and explorations of two new exhibits, Detroit: Arsenal of Democracy and The Kid Rock Music Lab.  We’ll visit the updated Doorway To Freedom – Detroit and the Underground Railroad, hear the story of David Heineman, the city council president who designed the official flag of Detroit and learn about the contributions of entrepreneurs such as Albert Kahn, Josh Linkner, Stanford Ovshinsky and Florine Mark.
